Our well-known Baltimore client is ready to hire again! Seeking an Applications Development Manager to be responsible for all internal and external software development and installation projects, from planning and design, to implementation of custom software solutions for various departmental, enterprise-wide, mainframe, mid-range or desktop computing systems. Coordinates the work of Software Engineers, Application Developers, Database Developers, Web Developers and Content Managers. Manages the design, specification, implementation and maintenance of internally developed applications and solutions, and coordinates the same for third party/offshore development activities. Additional responsibilities include oversight of, and participation in, change management, technical discussions, documentation reviews, team mentoring and defining overall best practice as related to application/software development across complex projects with cross functional teams, solution and design review; implementation of software platforms and solutions spanning healthcare operations, finance, care management and other related areas of the company. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Healthcare or Business Management. A Master's degree is preferred. Equivalent work experience may be substituted. Work requires a minimum of 7 years' experience with the specified IT department as well as a minimum of 5 years planning and managing projects and supervising staff. Must possess a high analytical ability to solve complex business problems. Skilled in directing the work of a diversified staff in requirements definitions and report development.
